Causes of Child Marriage in India:

  1. Tradition: Historically, child marriage was an age-old tradition in India. Families believed it was essential to marry off their children early.
  2. Poverty: Economic hardships often force families to marry off their daughters at a young age, assuming it will alleviate financial burdens.
  3. Illiteracy: Lack of education perpetuates child marriage. Families may not understand the long-term consequences for their children.
  4. Social Pressure: Societal norms and pressure from relatives can lead to early marriages.
